This is a digital photo collage. The photos were taken at the annual Germantown Juneteenth Festival. The photos depict a black solider dressed in a civil war union soldier’s uniform. In one image he is standing proud to have fought for freedom and in the other he is seated weary from war. The colors in the image are inverted and overlayed giving a sense of chaos to the viewer and also a sense of searching, wondering if this war will ever be over.
